On Christmas morning around 4 am, the power went out. It was very disturbing.
I called 311. They texted me to call LADPW. I spoke to a very courteous gentleman who told me exactly what was happening and what to expect. I also followed through online using the interactive map.
As advised, the power outage was fixed in the area in about one hour. I consider this to be excellent service! To actually speak to a human on Christmas morning and to be reassured by him was a wonderful feeling. I'm very impressed.
This is the second time (during spring rain storms) I've gotten reliable guidance. Great work by the LADPW! In the era of AI and computer bureaucracy, it's very nice to get good old fashioned dependable human customer service!
I hope you guys see my review. Keep up the good work!

Following the death of my father, the LADWP disconnected services. Despite my attempts to gather information and resolve multiple issues while lacking the knowledge and resources to fully grasp the complexity of the situation at hand, I am 2500 miles away from my home and my family and support.
LA DWP seems to think it is acceptable for me to be in a home with water or power. There is no water there is no life. And Customer Service reviews to help me resolve this issue or come to some sort of solution. Despite the fact they have acknowledged that my father is deceased, and he is the owner of the outstanding bill.
They have even put a lien on the estate and probate. I explained to the inspector Kelly Martinez the unique and complex circumstances of dealing with the aftermath of my fathers passing and the deliberate attempts of a woman who is trying to financially prosper through fraudulent activities on my fathers estate. I've been advised by several attorneys not to allow this woman access to my father's home, which is forcing me to stay in the home without utilities, local resources, support or family. I have tried to figure out who they are accountable to, and have talked to Customer Service numerous times.
Only need to get directed back to the inspector Kelly Martinez, who seems to have a grudge or vendetta towards this house my father or me because hes aggressive behavior. Yet, this inspector named Kelly Martinez refuses to put in writing that he will not allow services to be re-established in this home until an over $14,000 bill is paid. What am I supposed to do in this situation? Most customer service advocates that I spoke to you within the LA.
DWP has told me that their policy is outstanding bill of a deceased customer will not carry over to a new tenant or homeowner. But why is it that Im being held responsible and denied basic necessities to survive?. Why is it that policies and procedures differ when it comes to my situation? I cannot get any answers whatsoever.
The denial of access to the basic necessities needed to survive such as water, and electricity, the ability to keep my food, cold the ability to flush toilets or wash myself and the amount of stress, anxiety, and effort it is taking to simply survive while I am dealing with multiple other issues surrounding the death of my father is having a direct impact on my physical emotional and psychological health. I feel as if Kelly Martinez has bullied me.
I feel victimized and I feel violated. Its inhumane to deny these things for an animal let alone a human being.
Preferred solution: I would like to get an apology first and foremost I would like action taken against their employee that has left me feeling bullied and victimized, and I would like to know who to file a formal complaint with

I waited for 15 mins for the representative to tell me their system was down and to go online to put in a request. Everybody doesn't have a computer available for use. She said that they are busy on Mondays.

I requested a Meter Spot for my attached garage Conversion to ADU through LADWP online services on April 16th 2024.On that request I provided any information they needed.waited for more than days thinking everything is on the roll and they would contact and give me a schedule for meter spot.when I called customer service they said we sent an email on April26 asking plans and amount of KW needed, I didnt receive that email till May 31, I got the email, so I sent my contact information and whatever other informations like single family home and ADU location plan showing nearby power pole and vault and a schedule of power needed for ADU appliances in Kw as well on same day.I really appreciate if you consider my situation when my all electric work has been done by contractor and waiting for Meter Installation and LADBS inspection.

Failed to pickup black waste container.
My waste containers were at the curb timely. When I returned home I saw that the black waste container had not been emptied.
I also notice that someone had parked in front of my house and their vehicle was very close to the black waste container. Im not sure if this is why they fail to collect my trash. There was no note on my can as to the reason for this failure.. I have no control over where or how people park their vehicles.
If this posed a problem, I wouldve expected the waste collector to exit the truck to move my can to a position where they could empty it.
Now I may be required to wait several days to have my waste can emptied that does not seem to be a fair process. I am very disappointed.

This isn't the first time I have received a high bill which I know is wrong. My bill usually comes out between $40-$45 but now it's $72!
In the past,when they have made this mistake,they have given me credit but why does this keep happening? Is the person reading "my" meter or isn't paying attention to the correct numbers? I'm just getting tired of these mistakes.
Please pay attention to avoid getting me all stressed out over someone else's mistakes. Thank you.

I was in a coma for 6 months and I lost my job and my will to live I fell behind on my bills because I was hospitalized for so long that I was not able to pay for my bills and my representative Mellisa was so kind and helpful to answer my questions I felt so grateful for her support I cried and she said that she would be able to help me out with the billing I appreciated her and her kindness she said she was going to help me with my bills I pray that she and her family is doing well and I will pray that she is a woman of her word and god bless her and her family for her support she truly deserves it and all of her family too may god bless her and words were so comforting that she brought tears to my eyes when I hung up I couldnt believe how beautiful she is and compassionate to save me this is a wonderful woman who has a beautiful heart and I hope that I can speak to her again soon I just cant wait to hear from her again and Im sure she will be able to help another person out like me
